Capitol Hill Events
The State Capitol serves as a public
forum for issues of government interest and concern. If you would like to
schedule temporary use of the public areas on Capitol Hill, please contact the Georgia
Building Authority.
Special Events
- The Georgia General Assembly convenes on the
second Monday in January for a forty-day session. Information related to
legislative business may be obtained from the
House
Information Office or the
Senate
Information Office.
- Georgia Day is recognized on February 12th by
the Governor’s proclamation and a special program.
- The holiday season is celebrated in the
Capitol during the month of December with special music at noon and festive
decorations throughout the building.

are proclaimed as
public and legal holidays in the State of Georgia pursuant to the authority vested in the Governor
by virtue of span lang="en-us">. The State Capitol and all Departments of
the State are closed on these dates
