Secretary of State Kemp Certifies Results in State House District 10 Special Election

Atlanta – Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp today certified the results for the November 8, 2011 special election in State House District 10. The certified results can be found on the Secretary of State’s website: http://sos.ga.gov/elections. Candidate Terry Rogers was declared the winner in State House District 10.

In certifying the results, the Secretary of State affirmed that all counties have provided to the state the total votes tabulated for each state candidate. Further, the Secretary of State affirms that the returns are a true and correct tabulation of the certified returns received by this office from each county. Certification does not preclude the state from continuing any current investigations related to the special election, or from pursuing any future allegations that may arise from this election.

Brian Kemp has been Secretary of State since January 2010. Among the office’s wide-ranging responsibilities, the Secretary of State is charged with conducting efficient and secure elections, the registration of corporations, and the regulation of securities and professional license holders. The office also oversees the Georgia Archives.
