Secretary of State Kemp Appoints Ann Hicks as Interim Elections Division Director
Atlanta – Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp today announced the appointment of Ann Hicks as Interim Elections Division Director, following the swearing-in of previous Director Wes Tailor as Fulton County State Court Judge.
Secretary Kemp stated, “Ann Hicks is an outstanding public servant who has more than 30 years of elections administration experience, and exceptional relationships with our county election and registration directors. I am confident that under her leadership we will continue to ensure a secure, accessible and fair elections process for all Georgians.”
Hicks currently serves as the Division’s Elections Administration Manager, and is a Certified Elections/Registration Administrator (CERA). CERA is the only national program of continuing professional education which specializes in voter registration and elections administration.
Hicks said, “I am honored to receive this appointment. We will continue to work hard to provide Georgia counties exceptional election support and oversight, and give Georgia voters the security and access that they expect and deserve.”
Brian Kemp has been Secretary of State since January, 2010. Among the office’s wide-ranging responsibilities, the Secretary of State is charged with conducting efficient and secure elections, the registration of corporations, and the regulation of securities and professional license holders. The office also oversees the Georgia Archives and the Capitol Museum.
