Secretary of State Karen Handel Reminds Voters to Bring Photo ID when Advance Voting
ATLANTA- Secretary of State Karen Handel reminds all voters participating in the upcoming run-off election for House District 93 that advance voting will begin Monday, June 2 and end Friday, June 6, 2008. Voters participating in the election in-person will be required to show photo ID.
A run-off election is being held Tuesday, June 10 for House District 93, which includes portions of DeKalb and Rockdale counties. Any registered voter who was eligible to vote in the May 13 special election can vote in the run-off election.
Voters will be required to show one of the following six forms of photo ID when voting in-person during advance voting or on Election Day:
If a voter does not have one of these forms of photo identification, they can obtain a free Voter ID card at their county registrarsí office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services. Voters in House District 93 can contact the DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections at (404) 298-4020 or the Rockdale County Voter Registration and Board of Elections at (770) 785-5947.
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10. Voters can find voter registration information, including polling locations and legislative districts, by visiting http://sos.georgia.gov/cgi-bin/locator.asp or by calling (888) 265-1115.
Voters can request an absentee ballot from their county registrarís office through Friday, June 6, 2008. All absentee ballots must be received by the county registrar by Election Day, Tuesday, June 10. Photo identification is not required when voting by mail.
