The Office of the Secretary of State is transmitting this afternoon the certified elections results for the 10th Congressional District to the Governor.  Because no candidate received the required majority of the vote, a run-off election between the top two vote getters – Republican Jim Whitehead and Republican Paul Broun, will be held on July 17.

Early voting for the run-off election will take place from July 9 - July 13. Polls will be open from 7 am until 7 pm on July 17.

Also this afternoon, the Secretary of State is transmitting the certified elections results for the 24th Senate District to the Secretary of the Georgia Senate.  This transmittal will also include Bill Jackson’s commission, ID card, and an election certificate which reflects the total number of votes he received.
