January Special State Election Board Meeting Set

Atlanta - Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced today that there would be a special State Election Board (SEB) meeting to specifically address Fulton County issues and irregularities during the 2012 election cycle. The special SEB meeting will take place on January 31st, 2013 at 10:00 am in Atlanta, GA. The exact location of the meeting is yet to be determined and will be disclosed at a later time.

“The integrity of our elections is of the utmost importance. I look forward to making progress as we address the unfortunate events during Fulton’s 2012 elections,” said Kemp.

Brian Kemp has been Secretary of State since January, 2010. Among the office’s wide-ranging responsibilities, the Secretary of State is charged with conducting efficient and secure elections, the registration of corporations, and the regulation of securities and professional license holders. The office also oversees the Georgia Archives.
