Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Dispensing Opticians at its July 30 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Dispensing Opticians held its bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 30, 2008.

The Board voted to post the following rule:

• Rule 420-9-.01, Continuing Education for License Renewal: Requires licensees to receive 10 hours of continuing education prior to license renewal, including two hours of continuing education in the area of contacts. Also requires licensees to submit certificates of attendance for continuing education to the Board.

The Board voted to suspend the following license to practice as a Dispensing Optician because the licensee defaulted on her student loan:
