Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of General and Residential Contractors at its June 4 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of General and Residential Contractors held its meeting on Wednesday, June 4, 2008.

The Board held 66 appearances for applicants who requested that the Board reconsider the denial of their licenses. The Board overturned the denials of 21 applications for licensure, upheld the denials of 9 applications for licensure and tabled 22 applications for further review. Fourteen applicants did not attend their scheduled appearances.

The Board voted to ratify 287 residential basic licenses, 178 residential light licenses and 228 general contractor licenses that were issued from May 7, 2008 thru June 3, 2008.

The Board also voted to deny 10 residential basic contractor licenses, 6 residential light contractor licenses and 12 general contractor licenses.

The Board voted to accept the following consent orders for probationary licensure:

  • Robert Eugene Dabbs, Cartersville
  • Vex Tredell Farley, Manchester
  • Alex A. Henson, Ellijay
  • Matthew Alan Knighton, Valdosta
  • Jacob L. McClure, Covington
  • David Franklin McNeely, Sparta
  • Dennis Pfeffer Sawyer, Snellville
  • Tracy Trevor Swearingen, Stone Mountain
  • Robert Norman Webb, Atlanta
  • Robert Lee Williams, Dawsonville

The Board voted to not change the expiration dates of the Residential and General Contractor licenses, which currently show an expiration date of 2009.

The Residential Division of the Georgia Board of General and Residential Contractors will hold its next meeting Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 8 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division in Macon, Georgia.
