Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy at its February 22 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Massage Therapy held its bi-monthly meeting on Friday, February 22, 2008.

The Board voted to adopt the following rule changes:

  • Board Rule 345-4-.04 Inactive Status: Clarification of continuing education hours necessary, and time frame for obtaining, for reinstatement of a license in Inactive status.
  • Board Rule 345-4-.05 Reinstatement of a License: Clarification of continuing education hours necessary, and time frame for obtaining, for reinstatement of a license.

The Board voted to extend approval to the following massage therapy programs:

  • Chattanooga Massage Institute, Tennessee
  • Red Mountain Institute for the Healing Arts, Alabama
  • Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, Canada
  • Alpha School of Massage, South Carolina
  • Emerald Coast Massage School, Florida
  • Advanced Career Training of Atlanta, Georgia (both locations)
  • Utah College of Massage, Utah (main location only)
  • Swedish Institute, New York
  • School of Massage Arts, Missouri

The Georgia Board of Massage Therapy was scheduled to hold its next meeting Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Professional Licensing Boards Division in Macon, Georgia. The Board voted to move the meeting to Friday, April 11, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
