Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Nursing held its bi-monthly meeting Wednesday, January 16 through Friday, January 18, 2008.

The Board voted to adopt the following rules 

• Rule 410-13-.01 Regulation of Protocol Use by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses as Authorized by O.C.G.A. §43-34-26.1: To assist in protecting and safeguarding the public by regulating the practice of advanced practice registered nurses who use protocols as authorized.
• Rule 410-13-.02 Regulation of Protocol Use by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses as Authorized by O.C.G.A. §43-34-26.3: Clarifies protocol use by advanced practice registered nurses.

The Board granted full approval through Friday, December 31, 2010 for Valdosta State University.

The Board granted initial approval for a developmental program for nursing for LaGrange College.
