Secretary of State Karen Handel Reminds Voters to Bring Photo ID to Advance Voting ATLANTA- Secretary of State Karen Handel reminds all voters participating in upcoming run-off elections that advance voting will begin Monday, November 26 and end Friday, November 30. Voters participating in the election in-person will be required to show photo ID. Run-off elections are being held Tuesday, December 4 for state House District 127 as well as any county and municipal elections where candidates failed to receive a majority of votes during the November 6 election. Any registered voter who was eligible to vote in the November 6 election can vote in the run-off election. House District 127 comprises Pike County and portions of Lamar and Upson Counties. Voters will be required to show one of the following six forms of photo ID when voting in-person during advance voting or on Election Day:
If a voter does not have one of these forms of photo identification, they can obtain a FREE Voter ID card at their county registrar’s office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services. Voters can request an absentee ballot from their county registrar’s office through Friday, November 30. All absentee ballots must be received by the county registrar by 7:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, December 4. Photo identification is not required when voting by mail.
