Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Examiners of Psychologists at its November 16 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Examiners of Psychologists held its monthly meeting on Friday, November 16. The Board is the regulatory authority for individuals licensed to practice psychology.

The Board voted to revise the following rules: 

  • 510-9.03 Permission for Limited Practice: Rule change to update and clarify requirements for temporary licensure of individuals licensed to practice psychology in another jurisdiction.
  • 510-5.04 Maintenance and Retention of Records: Rule change to update and clarify requirements of maintenance and retention of records by psychologists in Georgia.

The Board voted to issue the following Summary Suspensions:

  • Dr. Richard Resin, Atlanta: Failure to appear before the Board.
  • Dr. John Farrar, McDonough: Failure to comply with Consent Order.

The Board voted to accept the following Voluntary Cease and Desist Order:

  • Ferhan Manas, Smyrna: Practicing Psychology without a license.

In other business, the Board would like to extend its congratulations to board member Dr. Carol Webb. Dr. Webb was elected to the board of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards at its annual meeting of delegates in October.

The next meeting of the Georgia State Board of Examiners of Psychologists will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 9:00 am at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.
