ATLANTA—Secretary of State Karen Handel today estimated that 10 % of active registered voters in the 10th Congressional District will vote in the June 19 Special Election to fill the unexpired term of the late Congressman Charlie Norwood. Today’s prediction was based on absentee ballot requests, early voting numbers, newly processed voter registrations, and reports from elections officials across the district. Secretary Handel reminded voters that the polls will be open June 19 from 7 am until 7 pm for the 10th Congressional District and 24th State Senate District special elections, as well as a number of local referendum elections and special elections to fill local vacancies. Voters are not required to show photo identification but will be asked to show one of the 17 forms of identification currently allowed by Georgia law. |
