Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers at its December 18 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers held its meeting on Tuesday, December 18, 2007.

The Board voted to approve the following meeting dates for 2008. All meetings will be held at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.

Tuesday, January 29, 2008, 8:30 a.m.
Tuesday, April 29, 2008, 8:30 a.m.
Tuesday, June 24, 2008, 9:00 a.m.
Wednesday, September 24, 2008, 9:00 a.m.
Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 9:00 a.m.

In other business, the Board elected officers for the 2008 calendar year. Russ Hoff of Valdosta will continue to serve as Chair, and Dr. Scott Malone of Warner Robins will continue to serve as Vice-Chair.

A letter from Governor Sonny Perdue addressed to former Board Chairman Warren Morris from Athens was presented to the Board, thanking Mr. Morris for his service to the Board and accepting his resignation. Mr. Morris resigned from the Board on November 7, 2007. Mr. Morris had been Chair of the Board since 1980 and was Chair of the Exam Committee from 1978-1980.

The Board’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
