Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors at its December 11 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 11.

The Board voted to post the following rule for changes:

Board Rule 180-12-.02, Sealing of Documents: In paragraph 1 change “This rule shall apply to property plats….” to “This rule shall not apply to property plats…” Also, in paragraph 5, add “O.C.G.A. 10-12-4 does not apply.” The entire proposed rule can be found here: http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/pels/notice_amend.htm.

The Board will hold a public hearing to discuss and vote on whether to accept the proposed changes to the rule. The date of the public hearing will be posted on the Board’s website: http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/pels/.

In other business, the Board elected officers for the 2008 calendar year. Doris Willmer of Atlanta will serve as Chairman and Bill Dean of Duluth will serve as Vice Chairman.
