Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Dentistry at its May 6 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Dentistry met on Friday, May 6, 2011.

The Board voted to post amendments to Board Rule 150-8-.03 Supervision of Dental Hygienists. The rule amendments provide guidelines for supervision of dental hygiene practice at the Department of Community Health, county boards of health and Department of Corrections facilities. It further specifies that dental hygiene training programs adhere to CODA standards. 

The Board voted to revoke the following license:

• Dr. William Keith Woods, Mount Pleasant, TN

The Board voted to accept the following consent orders:

• Dr. Sunday Fawole, Lawrenceville
• Dr. Scott Wade Smith, Loganville                

The Georgia Board of Dentistry will hold its next meeting Friday, June 24, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
