Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology at its October 18 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology held its meeting on Monday, October 18, 2010.

The Board voted to accept payment on the following past due citations:

• Steve Hightower Hair Artistry, Atlanta        
• Hair It Is, Augusta
• Morrisal LaShontee Williams, Augusta
• Salon Nouveau Beauty, Augusta       
• Sherry’s Nail Studio, Augusta
• Urban Grace Salon, Augusta 
• World Nail, Baxley    
• Fine Nails Shop, Decatur
• New Nails Nail Salon, Decatur
• Nail Tech Salon, Jonesboro
• Classy Cuts Hair Salon, Moultrie
• Oakwood Nails & Spa, Oakwood     
• Perfect Cuts, Tifton
• Jolie Nail Manicurist, Union City
• Jimmy Nails Salon, Warner Robins
• USA Nails Salon, Warner Robins

The Board voted to uphold the following past due citations but reduce the fines:

The Board voted to dismiss the following past due citations:

• Bryanette Ridgway-Biles, Jackson
• Hair Connection Salon, Uvalda

The Board voted to suspend 85 licenses due to non-payment of student loans.

The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology will hold its next meeting Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
