Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology at its June 9 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology held its meeting on Wednesday, June 9, 2010.

The Board voted to deny the following application:

• Huong Thien Doan, Lilburn: Master Cosmetologist/Reciprocity

The Board voted to accept the following consent orders:

• Brian Tran and Uyen Thi Kim Vo d/b/a Bella Nail Spa Salon, Alpharetta: Consent Agreement for Licensure
• Jessica Lee Morris, Atlanta:  Consent Agreement for Licensure
• Timothy D. Youson, Columbus:  Consent Agreement for Licensure
• Jessica Marie Parkerson, Loganville: Consent Agreement for Renewal

• Gloria Ann McDonald D/B/A Hair Shack Salon, Vidalia: Consent Agreement for Licensure

The Board voted to terminate the probation sanction for the following licensees:

• Walietha Orr, Norcross
• Judy Motes, Summerville

The Board voted to release the following license from suspension for non-payment of a student loan:

• Jennifer R. White, Colbert

The Board voted to refer the following licensees to the Attorney General’s Office for revocation due to non-payment of citations:

• Salon Unisex Estrella #2, Forest Park
• Carolina Urbano, Moultrie

The Board voted to dismiss the citations for the following establishments:

• Shenanigan’s Hair Studio, Buford
• Back Street Hair Studio, Conyers

The Board voted to ratify 78 cease and desist orders.

The Board revised the Cosmetology Board meeting dates as follows:

• Wednesday, July 21, 2010 (Replacing July 14)
• Wednesday, September 29, 2010 (Replacing September 8)
• Wednesday, October 20, 2010 (Replacing October 13)
• Monday, November 22, 2010 (Replacing November 10)
• Wednesday, December 1, 2010 (Replacing Dec 8)

The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology will hold its next meeting Monday, June 14, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
