Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of General and Residential Contractors at its April 2 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of General and Residential Contractors held its meeting on Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
The Board held 49 appearances for applicants who requested that the Board reconsider the denial of their licenses. The Board overturned the denials of 20 applications for licensure, upheld the denials of 15 applications for licensure and tabled 12 applications for further review. Two applicants did not attend their scheduled appearances.
The Board voted to approve 105 residential basic licenses, 57 residential light licenses and 29 general contractor licenses.
The Board also voted to deny 19 residential basic contractor licenses, 16 residential light contractor licenses and 14 general contractor licenses.
The Residential Division of the Board voted on the remaining appearances from the March 13, 2008 Residential Division Committee Meeting. The Division overturned the denials of 26 applications for licensure, upheld the denial of 14 applications for licensure and tabled two applications for further review.
The Board voted to accept the following Public Consent Orders for probationary licensure:

The Board will hold a public hearing and vote on rules for the General Contractor Limited Tier license at its May 7, 2008 meeting.
The Georgia Board of General and Residential Contractors will hold its next meeting Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division in Macon, Georgia.
