Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Barbers at its January 11 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Barbers met on Monday, January 11, 2010.
The Board voted to deny the following applications for licensure:
- Joseph Frazier, Albany
- Langston Deary, Avondale Estates
- William Asa Hopkins, Macon
- Kevin Morian, Riverdale
- Tretsky Merrell, Waycross
- Shaun Stewart, Sr., Waycross
The Board voted to uphold citations against the following establishments:
- Uppercuts Barbershop, Atlanta
- Legends Barber & Accessory Shop, Atlanta
- Doc Hollywood’s Barber Shop, Columbus
- All Cuts, McDonough
- Top Cut Barbershop, Smyrna
- Best Cutz 1 Barber/Beauty, Stockbridge
- Kapital Kutz, Warner Robins
The Board voted to uphold citations against the following establishments but reduce the fine:
- Uppa Cuts Styling Studio, Atlanta
- Faze 3 Hair Salon, Brunswick
- Instyle Cutz, Perry
- Magic Kuts & More, Valdosta
The Board voted to dismiss citations against the following establishments:
- Upper Level, Atlanta
- The Spot, Columbus
The Board voted to reschedule hearings related to citations against the following establishments:
- Tony’s Barber Salon, Atlanta
The Board voted to accept the following consent orders:
- Christopher Golatt, Stockbridge: consent agreement for licensure
- Richard Byron Williams, College Park: consent agreement for renewal
The Board voted to accept fine payments from the following establishments:
- The Best of Both Worlds, Alpharetta
- Simply Faith Barbershop, Atlanta
- Omar’s Barber Shop, Augusta
- Klose Kutz Barbershop, Columbus
- Olga Hair Salon, Macon
- Jones Barbering & Styling, Milledgeville
- Wayne Washington, Valdosta
The Board voted to ratify cease and desist orders from the following individuals or establishments:

- Scissors Palace Barbershop, Columbus
- Maxx Styles, East Point
- Crossroads Barber Shop, Griffin

The Georgia State Board of Barbers will hold its next meeting Monday, March 8, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
