Conversion of Digital Images
The Georgia Archives is able to convert digital images to microfilm for long term permanent retention and backup. Through the use of a Kodak Document Archive Writer (DAW) the archives can convert digital images of letter- and legal-sized documents to 16mm film. This service is available only to governments and not-for-profits.
The film produced meets archive standards for preservation and may be stored in the Archives Security Vault.
The DAW accepts single-page or multi-page TIFF Group 4 file format.
All work is subject to the availability of resources. The Georgia Archives reserves the right to refuse projects which would, in its opinion, divert resources from its primary mission.
Cost: $0.015 per image
Approximate images per reel:
100 ft reel – 4,500 images
215 ft reel – 7,000 images
Images must be delivered to the Archives on DVD or CD in TIFF Group 4 format.
Local Georgia government records projects will be discounted 10% if the Archives is given a copy of the images to make available to the public.
