The Georgia Archives is not authorized or staffed to provide genealogical research or to verify family relationships; our primary function is to provide access to the records for your research. We encourage you to visit the Georgia Archives so that we may assist you.
The Archives is open for research Friday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Archives is closed for all
state and most federal holidays. When the holiday falls on Friday or a Monday, the Archives is also closed on the Saturday following the Friday holiday or immediately preceding the Monday holiday. Please see

Original documents are retrieved from 8:30 to 4:00 p.m., and may be viewed in the Original Document Reading Room until 4:45 p.m.
You may wish to review the documents in the Virtual Vault. The Vault includes some death certificates, marriage records, and land related records.
