Licenses, Permits, and Stamps Generally

Commercial Alligator Farming Licenses

Citation: Rule 391-4-11-.08 Records. Amended.
Regulating Agency: Department of Natural Resources.
Requirement: To maintain (1) complete written records and documentation regarding initial inventory of breeding stock, indicating the source of such stock, their numbers, length, and sex, if known; (2) complete written records on a current basis reflecting subsequent population levels due to hatchling success, mortality, purchases of additional stock, etc., sufficient to demonstrate that the inventory is commensurate with production and survival levels for captive populations as measured against professionally accepted biological standards; (3) shipping tickets, invoices, or bills of lading to reflect the disposition made of any alligator stock; (4) records on all alligator carcasses purchased from nuisance alligator agent-trappers, including the length and hide tag number of the alligators purchased, the name of the trapper-agent, and the date of the purchase.

Commercial Quail Breeder Permits

Taxidermist Licenses

Citation: O.C.G.A. Section 27-2-9 Taxidermist licenses; unlawful acts and omissions by taxidermists.
Regulating Agency: Department of Natural Resources.
Requirement: To keep at the taxidermist's business premises a written record of all wildlife received by him, showing (1) the name and address of the owner; (2) the date such wildlife was killed; (3) the number and species of such wildlife; and (4) the date received.
Persons Affected: Taxidermists.
Retention Period: Until the specimen to which the records refer has been disposed of.

Seafood

Citation: O.C.G.A. Section 27-4-136 Maintenance of records by suppliers.
Regulating Agency: Department of Natural Resources.
Requirement: To keep a record in which is entered (1) the amount of shrimp, shellfish, crabs, fish, or other seafood taken from Georgia waters for commercial purposes, (2) the name of each person from whom purchased, (3) the date of purchase, grade, and quantity purchased, (4) the name, number, and approximate tonnage of the boat in which they were brought to the factory, (5) the number of calendar days expended in harvesting the product, (6) the approximate location or locations of harvest, (7) the quantity canned and packed for shipment, and the date and amount of each shipment.
Persons Affected: Persons owning or operating canning factories or shucking plants or otherwise dealing in or supplying raw shrimp, shellfish, crabs, fish, or other seafood for commercial purposes.

Wildlife Generally

Fur Dealers

Citation: O.C.G.A. Section 27-3-71 Reports and records of fur dealers; inspection of premises.
Regulating Agency: Department of Natural Resources
Requirement: To maintain in a legible manner on business premises a listing of furs purchased during the license year, showing (1) each type of hide, fur, skin, or pelt purchased, (2) the date of purchase, and (3) the name of the person from whom purchased.

Shooting Preserves

Citation: O.C.G.A. Section 27-3-111 Removal of untagged bird from shooting preserve; release of mallards or black ducks; failure to maintain or furnish records; failure to notify department of diseases.
