What if I don’t know the county?
For early marriages, ca. 1850 and before, there are a variety of published and online indexes that may be useful. Check our on-line catalog for titles.
If the marriage took place between 1874 and 1876.
If the marriage took place between 1964 and 1998, you can check the microfiche index to Georgia Marriages produced by the Vital Statistics section of the Department of Human Resources. A copy of this microfiche index is available at the Georgia Archives for the use of on-site researchers.
