DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
This is a contracted hourly position with no benefits, under limited supervision performing planning and evaluation of educational activities relating to board-approved practical nursing programs; travels state wide for the purpose of conducting site visits; files reports of findings and makes recommendations; meets with individuals and/or groups to receive and provide information regarding practical nursing schools and programs; attends regularly scheduled Board meetings to present reports and recommendations to the Board members. Coordinates activities relating to collection, review and documentation of board approved nursing programs and practical nurse refresher programs. The selected candidate will serve as a staff liaison to the education committee; and monitor NCLEX reports from the test service for practical nursing and registered nursing education programs leading to initial licensure.
Schedules and conducts state wide site visits of educational facilities, labs and clinical facilities; observes teaching and evaluation methods; observes curriculum and its development; create, review and analyzes documents and processes applications, reports of site visits and annual reports for compliance with school standards and curriculum requirements as established by the board. Serves as a staff liaison to the education committee.

Registered Nurse (RN) must hold a current license and be in good standing to maintain a license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Georgia. A Master's degree (MSN) in nursing from a nationally accredited college or institution; and a minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a registered nursing education program.
Knowledge of the theory, principles and practice of nursing; of current trends in nursing education; content of nursing education programs and the principles of curriculum development and course design. Skills in preparing reports, program evaluation documents and planning recommendations.
